The Effect of Aging Demographics on Inflation
Charles Goodhart says aging demographics may actually lead to higher inflation. But in a world of very slow population growth and slow labor force growth, that's actually a world where you need a lot less capital accumulation than you did in the past. And I think that actually has been one of the factors in Japan and even the United States in terms of our low R-Star world of the previous decade.
