If you're getting fixated on pay early in your career, it's a bit of a red flag. Get as much experience as possible first and then figure out what am I really good at,. Then you start to angle your way towards those things. Watch out for entitlement. So the language here where it says, it seems unfair because my promotion is likely coming two weeks after the pay rise and then I lose out on the benefits in my new position. When we start getting into that unfairness, I deserve. Those tend to be entitlement mentality coming in - so just be conscious of that.
