The Utopian Vision of Homesteading and Localism

Illich: Homesteading and localism is just this way in which people can dip their toe into finding a connection to nature. Illich: These little ways in which we can pick up tiny bits of slack for one another really makes both the state and the market much more obsolete. And I think part of the reason that this third way hasn't taken off is partially because there's really no power brokers that have an interest in advancing something like this.
