Joe Miller's Jokebook
Jokebook was a collection of contemporary and ancient course witticisms, only three of which are told of Miller. Jokebooks in this format were common even before the state. So it'd be fun to find some other ancient, like old, old couple, 300 year old jokes. But this is where I get that maybe it wasn't a time thing that made us not think these jokes were funny. Owing to the low quality of the jokes in Motley's book, the number increasing with each of many subsequent editions,. any time worn jest came to be called a Joe Miller, a Joe Millerism or simply a Millerism.
