The Importance of Workplace Design
Women are capable of working very hard on construction sites. Women can carry head loads of up to 60 kilos but women want to work very differently from men. In the normal office designed for a man if the man is comfortable the woman will inevitably be cold and this is something modern officers have simply not taken into account. For me freelancing was liberating because I did not have to spend time commuting or spending time in useless meetings. So it's very well for Sheryl Sandberg and others to say lean in how much are you going to lean? But ultimately workplaces also need to recognize that if they are to retain female talent then they need to do they need to lean in too.
