Hosea's Opacity
Unlike Amos, Hosea was a Northerner, born and bred. His book of fourteen chapters is the first and longest in the Jewish grouping called the Twelve. From what I have read, his prose is considered difficult to the point of complete opacity. He has nothing to say about the worship of Baal and other foreign gods.
