The Flood and the Coming of the Son of Man
Jesus compares the coming of the son of man to the days of noah because it's a familiar literary comparison that people will know about. If he's not trying to teach us about noah, that means we can't press the details of the passage to show that noah was a historical individual. The text also has the flexibility to allow jesus to refer to noah even if JESUS knew that the text was figurative. So i don't think that jesus's reference to noah settles the matter one way or the other.

Genesis records that God sent the Great Flood to wipe out mankind because of sinfulness, but that he preserved Noah, his family, and pairs of every animal in an ark. Jimmy Akin and Dom Bettinelli look at the questions of whether Noah was a real person, was the flood worldwide, and more.
