Solana vs Nakamoto Consensus
Solana runs on Proof of History, which is like putting a turbocharger on an existing consensus mechanism. It allows the network to continually produce blocks as opposed to another block change where there's a few seconds of pause between each block production. Solana has gone down several times due to stress testing components of the network that just hadn't been stress tested that high before. And this was really a lot of this came down to what got labeled spam attacks or denial of service attacks - it wasn't technically accurate.
