How Do Powerful People Get Away With Committing Crimes?

Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself while awaiting trial in 2019, received such a light sentence when he was first convicted in 2008. Epstein went out and used his untold millions and maybe billions of dollars to pay for this sort of legal dream team. The federal prosecutor in charge of that case basically gave Jeffrey Epstein a pass. He led him plea to very low level state charges where Epstein was sentenced to 13 months in prison.
