How to Get Hip Access During a Competitive Match
There are only two ways to start to entangle leg and gain access to the hips from the bottom position. There's entering through the center or going through inside position. The other way that we can gain hip access is through what the community calls backside entries. In both cases, inside position must be retched before hip access can be achieved. So if you train an athlete to grip, fight, position and orient themselves around denying inside position, you take away all of that novelty. It no longer exists as a potential movement pattern. We used a general principle about the way the body aligns to solve a specific problem.
