Do You Believe the Police?
The boyfriend has claimed that he did not hear the police identify themselves and that he fired his gun thinking they were criminal intruders. A grand jury looked into it and decided the evidence supported the police's contention that they shot in self-defense. The verdict exonerated the officer who shot Taylor, although another officer was indicted for recklessly endangering next door neighbors but at a subsequent jury trial, he too was exonerated.
