The Importance of Momentum in Platformers
As you get to level two momentum, your character gains additional momentum upon like taking hits. And so it has this like building effect that your character gets stronger and then weaker over the course of battle. The game is just getting higher risk, higher reward in terms of Like the amount of damage your attacks do and how much damage you receive. It's a direct extension to my favorite genre: platformers.
