Protestantism lent itself to a more concrete approach in science. Another legacy was the educational system and intellectual values it imparted. The absolute spirit of his own idealist system can be understood as a version of luther's god, the sole source of all being and all salvation. We won't have to wait until the seventeenth century to observe such developments since there were advances in scientific method and practice already in our period.
