Roxanne Jones: One of the things I was thinking about as I was reading through particularly the essay books, but also some of those poems is like this fascination with finding that place of gratitude and joy. Do you think that that is a property or a quality that you share with a lot of other poets? Or do you Think that that's something that he does in a more distinctive way? Jones: To me poetry is like a profoundly embodied form. And poems among the things that they do is they show us how to breathe.
