The Evolution of Herpes Simplex

Herpy simplex pirus one, evolves very slowly. It evolves only a little bit faster than the human genome itself. We assume that humans carried it out of africa with them. But actually looks as though the modern patterns reflect a much more recent replacement of strains. And this is so verally interesting. I still find it quite bizarre that you can try and pin point, as it were, a year, or at least a century, in which this virus became spread amongst humans.
