By the end of World War II, it is American public opinion that perhaps have changed or at least has accepted the interventionist policies. Why at that point does the public begin to change its mind? Well, some of it's simply a rally around the flag effect. The old Republican party had completely given way to the liberal international wing of the Republican party.
