This is my third Faulkner, the one who was called the American Dostoevsky. He tackled the world on his typewriter and drank bourbon until he was senseless. We don't need to take his words as gospel; we're not putting coins in his coffers if we buy his books. It's a duty to write about these things, but he might have been talking about everything.
