The Metric System in the United States
After the French Revolution, France decided to unify their country with one system. It wasn't until 1965 that Britain gave up the battle and began to transition to the metric system. Even today in Canada, the metric system is the official form of measurement. The US has always understood that switching over to the metricsystem would mean better international collaboration and understanding.
