The Importance of Intellectual Honesty

I'm just fascinated by this because it takes, you know, to feel guilt over the bar mitzvah gifts and to throw them away. The fact that you had that kind of a brain that it basically forced you to deal with reality is fascinating. And my project in reading the gospels in Greek, I could only read like five sentences at a time because it took me that long to translate them. But the project was to set all theology, all churches, even the epistles of Paul, to set them all aside and just read the gospels to get to know the main character. That's a gift that I know that I don't have.
