The Theory of Intelligent Life on Mars

Lowell wrote several books about the planet, including 19 o six. He believed that mars is inhabited by beings of some sort - but it's not known what they are. But he was able to deduce a good bit about them based on their global canal system. Lowell even drew inferences about martian psychology.
