After the Justify My Love scandal, Madonna was approached about writing a book of Aratika. While you read it, it's impossible to not hear in your head Madonna's voice. 500,000 copies of Sex had been printed for sale in North America. A hundred and fifty thousand copies sold on the first day. There wasn't much outrage in the 90s about a story in the book about an adult woman divergentizing a teenage boy. Although recently, right-wing troll Candace Owens decided to dredge it up to suit her own culture war.
