The Importance of Being Disillusioned
I mean, I come away going, my God, you've identified everything that's wrong going on in the medical system. But how the hell do you dig ourselves out of it? Yeah, well, you know, so this is where I go back to two things here that I talk about in the last chapter. One is the importance of becoming disillusioned. So we live with a lot of illusions, and then there's a cold James Baldwin who says that in this country, words are used to cover the sleeper rather than to wake them up. The long term optimism is in my faith, you might say, on my conviction, that people have it in them to turn this around.
