Graves Disease and Thyroidectomy
Graves disease is an autoimmune disease caused by an antibody to the TSH receptor and this results in hyperthyroidism. You can't think about radioactive ablation, although it can't exacerbate some ivocular symptoms that you have with Graves disease. Every once in a while, these people will need a thyroidectomy. The treatment for toxic multinagular goiter is generally total or subtotal thyroidectomy.
