The Right and the Left Hemispheric Competences

Most neuro scientists say that absolutely both hemispheres are conscious. And then there's something called hemispheric rivalry. So when someone has a stroke on one hemisphere, depending on which side it is, it can reliably make them more cheerful or more depressed. If the right hemisphere takes action based on information it has access to that the left hemisphere doesn't, the left hemisphere gives an instantaneous and false explanation for the split brain subject's behavior.
