The Importance of Prayer
The act of prostration on the ground is actually really distinctive and really powerful. It does mean that you are acknowledging your own smallness in the broader cosmological time and space. If God is sovereign, if God is the ultimate, then we are quite literally nothing compared to that. There is really a profound disjuncture there.
