The government has released the SOPs for a new scheme to encourage electric vehicles in India. An executive at a major Indian automobile manufacturer told the Ken that right now the regulatory costs of complying with the SOP does not seem worth it just for a few possible frauds in incentives. The PLI is important for India to achieve its goal of 30% electrification of the country's vehicle fleet by 2030.
