The Tail Starts Wagging the Dog
In international affairs, here's what happens. In this case, America is the dog and the Ukrainians are the tail. The Zelensky and his military are supposed to be our junior partners. But when Joe Biden says that we will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes, no matter what, well what happens in the minds of Ukraine's leadership? It forces us to react and follow his lead. That's ultimately really bad for America to be effectively captured by a foreign power.
