Acoleia is an abnormal relaxation of the LEF, the hypertonic lower esophageal sphincter. pseudoacalasia is a barium swallow finding that looks like acoleia but is actually caused by malignancy. For young patients who are good surgical candidates, you can go ahead and take these patients for helhermyotomy as a preferred treatment.
