The Role of Institutional Review Boards in Research
All universities in the country or any organization that receives governmental funds has to have an institutional review board if they're doing any sort of research with humans. IRBs get started in, I think it was the early 70s after the Tuskegee revelations. And there are many anecdotes that you present in your book of people having to deal with institutional review boards for things that don't require paperwork and hoop jumping.
