The thing that can amplify the effect of stress is us thinking about it over and over again. Our mind can't differentiate between something actually happening to you and just you thinking about in your head. So I think that maybe, so it's a distraction. Some people when they get stressed out, they do unhealthy things like shopping or eating because it's a distractions. But playing Tetris, that's not going to hurt your waistline or your pocketbook. Having strategies out there that you can resort to or having backup strategies on your phone is a very helpful way of preventing you from resorting to inappropriate ways.
