Is America Just a Consumer Economy?

There is no going concern in america that makes money any more. That isn't, isn't a massive securities fraud in one way or another. But are our values, our culture, our politics just cannot metabolize the implications of that? So we have to keep pretending we have an economy. I mean, sounds pretty grim.
