The History of Kleenex

In 1925 Kleenex ran its first ad in Ladies Home Journal with the headline, The New Secret of Keeping a Pretty Skin. Around this time, Ernst Mahler started using the tissues instead of a handkerchief to help him with his hay fever. In 1929 the familiar pop-up Kleenex boxes with the perforated opening were introduced and sales doubled.
