The Nicole Ski Sign

Steven Johnson's syndrome and toxic epidermal neck realiasis are basically the same disease on a continuum of severity. Steven Johnson syndrome is less than 10% body surface area. Something we call SJSTEN overlap is 10 to 30%. Okay. So that's where derms will talk about this thing called the Nicole ski sign. This one's with a darker skin type here. That's great. I think there's not enough of that in our training and skin. Many of the textbooks just show things in white people. And that really does a disservice to all of our patients who have all live in deeper skin tones, brown skin tones.
