The metaphor that is used predominantly in Latin America now is of the María Verde, which translates to the green tide. This is a green tide that these days is very identified with reproductive justice and particularly the struggle for legal or decriminalized abortion. The color green and people wearing green curchives is something that has also been seen as the opposition to feminicide in all forms of gender-based violence.
