The Dual Nature of Man
The Hermeticum teaches that man united with nature, falling in love with it and becoming trapped in the world as a result. Mortals caught up in the embrace with nature forgot that they were deathless, immortal, and possessed of a powerful, indeed magical, creativity. In order to free oneself from the suffering of nature in the world, man has to surrender himself to noose; he must grasp these metaphysical realities which we already know but have forgotten.
