In 1965, about half the bottom quintile households in America did not have complete indoor plumbing. Fifty years later, there's virtually no place that doesn't have indoor plumbing. Most places are air conditioned. The smallest Ford you can buy is more reliable than a Rolls Royce was in 1965.
