So he saw early on the negative side of colonialism andimperialism. And that again, became ave consistent theme in his eteology and political pronouncements as an adult. In gadaf's own youthful experience, foreign occupation has only ever spelt trouble. This is a lesson he will be sure to remember. The desert will always provide respite. He will retreat there to reflect, to meditate.
