Framingham's Orford Castle
Orford was built by Henry II with a curtain wall as well as the tower. Framingham doesn't have one of those, in fact, Framingham never did. It was plundered for building materials in the 1600s by the stand-up family for the building of Sudborne Hall. Bits of the curtain wall actually limped on surprisingly long time, but as a very incomplete ruin. The last bit was finally taken down in 1841. From that point, only thisvery well preserved tower stands in isolation.
