Euripides - A Different Kind of Tragedies
Euripides is a kind of beginning of a departure from classical tragedy. He wretches at the horror of war and the cruelty of war, he writes. There's a modern moral element in Euripides that we don't find in the others. It's less archaic, it seems to me. I'm not an ancient Greeks scholar. I'm approaching all this is a layman.
