The Prodigy Conundrum

The contradiction inherent in Prodigy seemed to be that it was an online service that wasn't comfortable doing what online services did well. By 1993, only about 4% of computer users had ever even tried a commercial online service. The company that would truly take online services mainstream was another early online pioneer who would concentrate almost religiously on allowing users to interact with each other in whatever way they wished.
