Innovation and Tradition - The Story of the American Revolution

The story of post-seven years war colonial America is a story of new taxes, new regulations and new rules being introduced into the political system by the sovereign. So too with Crown and Parliament before the American Revolution. What this means is that concepts like innovation and tradition do not really tell you much about the lay of the revolutionary land. But on the other hand we do of course find the forces of innovation intuitively in the revolutionary camp.
