How to Build Kids Fluency
Reading fluency is a real important one and it's often really neglected at these levels. Why do we teach vocabulary? It improves comprehension. There are some explicit reading comprehension skills that can be taught. And finally, discourse structure. Substantial body of research showing that teaching kids how to recognize how an author has organized their ideas and use that organization as a tool to hold the information in your own memory will help you read better.
