Before the divorce, Kathleen and her husband did not do any budgeting or tracking. After the divorce she had to start figuring out where her money is going so that she can stretch it. She used a friend's knowledge of how to track cash flow as well as looking at her credit history in order to figure out if anything needed to be disputed. "I knew what I wanted to do next and how I was going to invest my money moving forward," says Kathleen.
