We're aiming for something similar to what you see in an in-car navigation system like Google Maps. The captain sets the goal of where they're trying to go and we will generate alternative routes, fast ones, low fuel use, low carbon emissions, etc. And usually that involves trying to avoid travelling through the thick ice because that is extremely fuel expensive.
