The Parent's Perception of the Cry
The meaning of the cry is determined by the primary caregiver's response. The subject of peer need, this bio animalistic being doesn't know that they're quote hungry. And so they cry and hope for the best if they hope at all. This is something really important because the transition from the outburst that is cry coming from a position of need crosses the threshold of language.
