The Battle of Shimabara

The siege of Hara Kastor took place in 1638. The rebels were trying to take hold of Shimabara castle, which was well defended. But the Tokugawa forces couldn't cope with their ' peasant rabble' In the end it came down to hunger and a desperate battle for survival. It is one of the most famous battles ever fought by Japanese soldiers.
