i became an environmentalist when i was 13. I've seen the movement engage in endless self criticism about how best to communicate, have campaigns. And then i don't think any of those really get to the heart of problem. There's a deeper pattern underlying this, which is the adaptive cycle model. In the early growth phase, the system responds to external changes by adapting them. But as it moves into the consolidation phase, it comes more and more resistant to change. We need to bring about a tipping point where we can no longer rely on government support for green building projects.
