Is Feedback Better?
I think our tendency is to try harder, not necessarily find ways of doing less or more easy or more efficient. It's this sort of thing that it helps to have like an outside observer for or these things that with videotaping, maybe we can figure it ourselves. I remember playing a recital in Houston where I taught at the Moore School of Music University and my son said, you know, daddy, what's funny is in the beginning, you look so small. He said, and in the end, you look like a giant. How could you grow like that? So I'm sure I didn't grow. But about feedback, there's nothing better. And feedback is important.
