When you have a word in english, you have to locate the stressed syllable. And then look at all the other vowels that are not stressed. So for example, stead of cong ra, construct, construction, for example, that's how a typical brazilian would say it am. The sound of o is so constructtion shun. It's ashu shu shun shun.
