The Politics of Data Portability
The first sort of major instance of data portability in loan regulation was in the European Union's general data protection regulation. It says users have the right to get to their data and to take it out of a system and to put it into a different system as they see fit. The details of how you turn these things into practice, look, this is a complex system. And we haven't even talked about the privacy and security tradeoffs that come into this as well,.
